The Benin Traditional Council has taken disciplinary action following an alleged breach of palace protocol involving influencer Habeeb Hamzat Adelaja. The incident reportedly occurred after he gained unauthorized access to the sacred palace grounds.

According to officials, the situation has been treated seriously due to the cultural importance of the palace, which serves as the seat of the Oba of Benin. Authorities emphasized that the palace is not open for casual visits or content creation.

As part of the response, some chiefs and staff members have been sanctioned, including a staff member currently in police custody. A chief linked to the incident has also been suspended indefinitely, while investigations continue.

Additionally, a queen who appeared in the incident is facing disciplinary proceedings that could lead to her removal from the palace. The council has also asked the influencer to appear before them and issue an apology or face further legal action.
