FIFA has officially dismissed the petition filed by the Super Eagles against DR Congo national football team regarding their 2026 World Cup match. The appeal was lodged over alleged regulatory breaches during the qualifiers.
The Nigerian Football Federation argued that DR Congo had violated FIFA rules, but the international body reviewed the case and found no grounds to alter the match outcome.
FIFA’s decision confirms that the match results stand as played, leaving the Super Eagles’ campaign in the tournament unaffected by the complaint.
Officials of the Super Eagles expressed disappointment over the ruling but assured fans that the team remains focused on preparing for the upcoming World Cup fixtures.
