Ogun SUBEB inducts 104 new head teachers

The Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has inducted 104 newly appointed headteachers to lead public primary schools across the state. The ceremony took place at the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Hall, Kuto, Abeokuta, with Chairman Olalekan Ifede emphasizing the role of headteachers in transforming basic education.

Ifede highlighted that the quality of leadership by headteachers directly affects teaching and learning outcomes. He assured the inductees of the board’s support but stressed that their responsibility, commitment, and measurable results are key to success.

Permanent Member IV, Akeem Balogun, urged the headteachers to bring innovation into school administration, while the Headteacher General of Egba Zone, Mrs. Folake Onabajo, encouraged them to see their roles as platforms for mentorship, discipline, and professionalism.

Guest speaker and retired SUBEB Board Secretary, Olubori Akinleye, advised the inductees to manage schools seriously, maintain positive relationships with teachers and pupils, develop basic computer skills, and uphold accountability to ensure academic excellence and safe learning environments.
