Al-Barka estate: Court restrains Abuja firm, Goldenbird, one other

An FCT High Court has issued an interim injunction restraining Goldenbird Investment Ltd and other unknown persons from interfering with lands in Al-Barka Estate, Wuye, Abuja. The order protects plots 1841, 1842, 1843, and 1844 until the suit filed by Promiseland Building and Construction Ltd, Havencourt Apartment Ltd, and En-Rose Nigeria Ltd is determined.

The court clarified that the injunction prevents interference with ownership or possession, ensuring that the claimants can maintain their rights while the matter is pending. The order followed an ex parte application seeking to protect the proprietary and possessory interests of the claimants.

Promiseland CEO, Ambassador Dr Lawrence Emmanuel, said the order does not restrain his company from developing the estate. He emphasized that the ruling protects Promiseland’s ownership rights and cautioned the public against misleading reports suggesting otherwise.

He urged the public to verify title ownership through the Abuja Geographical Information System and the FCDA Development Control department. The injunction ensures legal protection of the land while the court hears the substantive claim.
