The United States has announced a combined $10 million reward for information leading to the arrest or conviction of René Arzate-García and Alfonso Arzate-García. The bounty, offered under the Narcotics Rewards Program, places $5 million on each brother for their alleged roles in the Sinaloa Cartel.
U.S. officials say the brothers, also known as “La Rana” and “Aquiles,” have controlled the Tijuana Plaza trafficking corridor for about 15 years. They are accused of using violence, alliances, and corrupt networks to maintain influence in cross-border drug operations.
The U.S. Department of State said the pair are key figures in the movement of fentanyl and other illegal drugs into American communities. The cartel has been designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization, reflecting Washington’s tougher stance on transnational crime.
Both men were first charged in 2014 and remain fugitives. The Drug Enforcement Administration has urged the public to provide credible tips, stressing that cooperation is essential to dismantle cartel networks and bring the suspects to justice.
