Political analyst, Akin Osuntokun, has described the ongoing conflict between former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai and former EFCC chairman Nuhu Ribadu as a “pure transfer of aggression,” noting that personal animosities have overshadowed policy debates.
Osuntokun said the feud reflects deeper tensions within Nigerian politics, where individual rivalries often escalate into public confrontations. He emphasized that such disputes tend to distract from critical governance issues and undermine public trust in political leadership.
The analyst noted that while both El-Rufai and Ribadu have contributed significantly to anti-corruption and governance reforms, their clash has drawn media attention away from substantive matters. Osuntokun argued that this personal vendetta now shapes public perceptions more than their professional achievements.
He called on political actors to prioritize dialogue, institutional processes, and constructive engagement over personal attacks, warning that continued escalation could further polarize the political landscape and reduce focus on national development goals.
