The Zamfara State Police Command has successfully recovered 15 cows stolen by bandits during an early morning raid on a community in Gusau Local Government Area. The attack occurred around 1:30 am on February 15 when armed assailants invaded Gidan Kwagiri village in Damba District, seizing livestock from local residents.
Following the report, the Divisional Police Officer of Damba Division, in coordination with patrol teams from the Department of Operations, quickly mobilized to track down the attackers. Their prompt action led to the recovery of 15 cows, which were safely returned to their owners.
Authorities said efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects and recover any other stolen animals. Security patrols in the affected areas have been intensified to prevent further incidents and reassure residents.
Residents expressed relief at the recovery of the livestock, while police authorities called for community cooperation in reporting suspicious activities. The operation highlights the growing coordination between local police and community stakeholders in tackling banditry in Zamfara.
