Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick has been named Premier League Manager of the Month for January, following an outstanding start to his tenure at Old Trafford.
Carrick, who assumed managerial duties from Ruben Amorim in mid-January, has made an immediate impact, guiding United to a series of impressive results against top-flight opposition.
His reign began in emphatic fashion with a commanding 2-0 victory over Manchester City in the Manchester Derby. That momentum continued with a thrilling 3-2 win against Arsenal, inflicting the Gunners’ first home defeat of the season under manager Mikel Arteta.
Carrick has since extended his unbeaten run as United boss, securing further victories over Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur, before earning a hard-fought draw away at West Ham United on Tuesday.Reacting to the award, Carrick said:
“It’s nice and it shows that we’ve had a very good start, but let’s be honest, it’s not just about me.It’s about everyone — the coaching staff, the backroom team, and definitely the players.
It shows that we’ve had a good start, which is very pleasing.”Carrick secured the accolade following a public vote, edging out Andoni Iraola of AFC Bournemouth, Liam Rosenior of Chelsea, and Sean Dyche of Nottingham Forest.
The recognition underscores an impressive opening chapter in Carrick’s managerial journey and signals renewed optimism at Old Trafford as the season progresses.
