PDP Crisis: Calling fellow politician vagabond uncalled for – Dan Ulasi

Former Anambra State PDP Chairman, Dan Ulasi, has condemned name-calling among party members as the ongoing crisis in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) continues. Speaking in an interview on Arise Television monitored by DAILY POST on Thursday, Ulasi said it was uncalled for to label a political colleague a “vagabond.”

Ulasi was responding to comments by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, who recently said there was “no more vagabond in the PDP,” a statement that sparked reactions across the country. The former PDP chairman warned that such language is out of control and damages the spirit of democracy. “The Oyo State governor calling Nyesom Wike a vagabond is uncalled for; such language shouldn’t be used for a political colleague,” Ulasi said.

He expressed sadness that internal skirmishes in the PDP have escalated. “Democracy depends on civility, and it appears that’s been lost,” Ulasi added. He noted that while the Wike faction did not approach the Ibadan court, the Turaki and Makinde faction lost in their legal pursuits.

Ulasi reaffirmed that the PDP remains united under the leadership of Abdulrahman Mohammed as National Chairman and Sam Anyanwu as National Secretary. He called for dialogue and civility to resolve party disagreements and strengthen the PDP ahead of upcoming political contests.
