Turkey: ‘Osimhen very strange kid, shouts at teammates’ – Ex-referee, Ahmet Çakar

Former Turkish referee Ahmet Çakar has shared his thoughts on Victor Osimhen, describing the Super Eagles striker as a unique and highly professional player. Speaking from years of experience watching football in Europe and Turkey, Çakar praised Osimhen’s work ethic, discipline, and strong competitive spirit, which he believes clearly set the Nigerian forward apart from many players at Galatasaray.

Appearing on Libero TV’s YouTube channel, Çakar said Osimhen takes his job very seriously and does not tolerate laziness. He explained that the striker often pushes his teammates by shouting instructions and demanding higher standards on the pitch. According to him, Osimhen’s seriousness extends beyond match days, noting that the forward focuses strictly on his duties and avoids distractions once his work is done.

Çakar added that Osimhen’s impact is not only measured by goals. Even on days he does not score, his energy, determination, and commitment still stand out. He described the former Napoli striker as a player with strong professional values whose attitude alone can influence matches and inspire teammates to raise their level.

However, the ex-referee also issued a note of caution. He said Osimhen’s passion can sometimes make him unpredictable, especially when situations become tense. While this fiery nature often fuels his performances, Çakar warned that pushing the striker too far could trigger reactions no one expects. Osimhen recently showed his quality again by scoring in Galatasaray’s 3-1 victory over Fatih Karagümrük, underlining his importance to the team.
