Police arraign two security guards over alleged stealing

The police have arraigned two security guards in court over allegations of stealing property entrusted to them. The suspects were brought before a magistrate court after investigations linked them to the alleged disappearance of items at their duty post.

According to the police, the guards were employed to protect the premises but were later accused of breaching trust by unlawfully taking valuables. The prosecution told the court that the offence was committed while the suspects were on duty, adding that their actions violated existing laws.

The two guards pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to them. Their lawyer asked the court to grant them bail, arguing that they are responsible citizens and would not interfere with the trial process.

The magistrate adjourned the case to a later date to allow for proper hearing and ordered that the defendants be remanded or granted bail based on the court’s conditions. The police said they would continue to ensure that justice is served in the matter.
