Four Reps defect from PDP, LP to APC

Four members of the House of Representatives Nigeria have officially defected from their political parties to join the ruling All Progressives Congress. The announcement was made during Wednesday’s plenary session in Abuja.

The lawmakers who moved from the Peoples Democratic Party to the APC include Inuwa Garuba, Abdullahi El-Rasheed and Mohammed Audu. Another lawmaker, Obika Chinedu, also left the Labour Party Nigeria to join the ruling party.

Meanwhile, Adewale Adebayo, who represents a constituency in Osun State, also changed political affiliation. He moved from the PDP to the Accord Party Nigeria, marking another shift in party alignment within the House.

The Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, read the official letters announcing the defections during plenary. The lawmakers cited internal crises within their former parties as the main reason for their decision.
