Tinubu govt focused on laundering image, not fighting terrorists – Atiku’s aide

A senior aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has criticized the Tinubu-led administration, accusing it of concentrating more on improving its public image than actively addressing terrorism in Nigeria. The aide claimed that the government’s strategies appear aimed at perception management rather than implementing concrete security measures.

According to the aide, the growing threats from terrorist groups remain inadequately addressed, putting ordinary Nigerians at risk. He stressed that citizens expect proactive policies to combat insecurity, not just public relations campaigns highlighting governmental efforts.

The aide also pointed out that recent statements and media appearances by the administration seem more focused on showcasing achievements than solving real security challenges. He warned that ignoring actual threats could further embolden insurgents and criminal networks.

Concluding his remarks, the Atiku aide urged the government to shift its priority from image projection to meaningful action against terrorism. He emphasized that Nigerians need tangible security improvements rather than mere political optics.
