Abia: Disunity, sabotage caused APC past defeat in Abia – Ononogbu

A former chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, Chief Donatus Nwankpa Ononogbu, has said that internal disunity and deliberate sabotage within the party were the main reasons for APC’s defeat in previous elections in the state. He explained that the party failed not because of the strength of its opponents, but because members worked against one another instead of standing united.

Ononogbu stated that personal interests, power struggles and lack of cooperation among party leaders weakened the party’s structure and confused voters. According to him, when a party is divided, it becomes difficult to present a clear message or gain the trust of the electorate, which eventually leads to electoral losses.

He urged APC members in Abia to learn from the past and focus on unity, discipline and internal peace ahead of future elections. Ononogbu stressed that only a united party with shared goals can effectively compete, win elections and deliver good governance to the people.

He added that reconciliation, transparency and sincere cooperation among party stakeholders are necessary for APC to regain strength in Abia State. He called on leaders and supporters to put the party above personal ambitions if they truly want to return to power and serve the people better.
