The Kano State Police Command has arrested a notorious drug dealer along with five other suspected criminals during a coordinated security operation across the state. The arrests followed weeks of surveillance and intelligence gathering aimed at reducing the spread of illegal drugs and crime in Kano.
Police sources said the main suspect has long been linked to drug distribution networks that supply hard drugs to young people and criminal groups. The other five suspects were allegedly involved in offences ranging from drug possession to robbery and illegal arms activities.
According to the police, the operation was part of ongoing efforts to clean up the streets and restore public confidence in security. Officers recovered substances believed to be illegal drugs, along with other items that may be used for criminal purposes. Investigations are ongoing, and the suspects will be charged to court after questioning.
The Kano State Police Command has urged residents to continue providing useful information to security agencies, stressing that community cooperation is key to winning the fight against drugs and crime. The police also warned that anyone involved in criminal activities would be tracked down and brought to justice.
