2027: South-East always vote according to conscience – Nwodo tells decamping govs, leaders

Former President-General of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo, has stated that the South-East region has always voted according to its conscience. Speaking to decamping governors and political leaders, Nwodo emphasized that the people of the region make independent decisions during elections, guided by their own judgment and interests.

He urged politicians to respect the democratic choice of the electorate, warning that attempts to influence or manipulate voters could backfire. Nwodo also highlighted the importance of accountability and transparency in political campaigns, stressing that South-East voters are increasingly conscious of leaders’ performance.

According to Nwodo, the region’s voting pattern has consistently reflected careful consideration of candidates’ achievements, integrity, and commitment to the welfare of the people. He reassured the public that the South-East will continue to exercise its voting power responsibly in the 2027 general elections.

He further advised decamping governors and political figures to prioritize public service over political calculations, adding that leaders who fail to deliver on promises risk losing the trust and support of the electorate. Nwodo called for unity among political actors to ensure a fair and peaceful election in the region.
