Muslim leaders warn Netanyahu to stay away from Nigeria

Some Muslim leaders and groups in Nigeria have warned Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, not to visit the country, saying his presence could increase tension and insecurity. They expressed concern over the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and said Nigeria should not be dragged into international disputes that could affect peace at home.

The leaders said Nigeria is already facing serious security and economic challenges and does not need additional issues that could create religious or political division. They urged the Federal Government to be cautious about foreign visits that may attract protests, unrest or negative reactions from the public.

According to the groups, any visit linked to controversial global conflicts could deepen existing religious sensitivities in the country. They called on the government to put national unity and stability first when making diplomatic decisions.

They also advised Nigerian leaders to focus more on solving local problems such as insecurity, poverty and unemployment, instead of engaging in foreign political matters that do not directly benefit the Nigerian people.
