The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has denied reports that he ordered a boycott of a federal government delegation that recently visited Rivers State. He described the claim as false and misleading, saying he had no reason to stop any official visit.
Wike explained that the federal delegation was free to carry out its duties and that no instruction was given by him or his office to prevent anyone from receiving the team. He stressed that the story being circulated was meant to create confusion and tension.
He added that he remains committed to cooperation between the federal government and state authorities in the interest of development and good governance. According to him, such partnerships are necessary for effective service delivery to the people.
Wike urged the public to ignore rumours and verify information from credible sources. He also called on the media to be responsible and avoid spreading unverified reports that could damage public trust and political stability.
