Activist Omoyele Sowore has attributed the recent car crash involving boxer Anthony Joshua to what he described as “systemic failures” in Nigeria. He said that weak road infrastructure, poor traffic management, and inadequate enforcement of safety laws are partly responsible for such accidents.

Sowore argued that many Nigerians face similar risks daily because the government has not invested sufficiently in road safety measures. He suggested that without proper planning and regulation, high-profile accidents like Joshua’s are likely to continue.

While Joshua survived the crash and is reportedly recovering, Sowore’s comments sparked discussion on social media about the state of Nigeria’s road safety and government accountability. Many agreed that systemic problems need urgent attention to prevent future accidents.

Sowore urged the authorities to prioritize reforms in transport infrastructure, traffic enforcement, and public safety awareness campaigns. He stressed that protecting citizens on the roads should be a key responsibility of the government at all levels.
