Adebayo, a leader of a political coalition, has stated that it is better for parties to remain outside government than to take office and betray the trust of Nigerians. He emphasized that leadership comes with responsibility, and compromising principles for power can harm the people.
Speaking during a media briefing, Adebayo said that political actors should prioritize integrity and public service over personal gain or party interests. According to him, Nigerians deserve honest leaders who uphold their promises rather than politicians who misuse government positions.
The coalition leader also urged political parties to carefully consider their role in governance. He said being part of government without a clear commitment to transparency and accountability could damage the country’s progress and erode citizens’ confidence.
Adebayo concluded that while it may be tempting for parties to seek power at all costs, remaining principled and rejecting opportunities that conflict with the public interest is a stronger form of leadership. He called on Nigerians to support political actors who value ethics above political ambition.
