NAOSS distances self from ‘illegal election’, says it was conducted by impostors

The National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS) has denied any involvement in a recent election that some groups claimed was legitimate. The association stated clearly that the said election did not follow its laid-down rules and was organised by people who had no authority within the organisation. According to NAOSS leaders, the process was a complete violation of its constitution.

NAOSS explained that genuine student leaders were not part of the meeting or the election, describing those who conducted it as impostors trying to mislead the public. The association noted that such actions are dangerous and create confusion among members. They urged Ondo State students to ignore the false announcement.

The leadership further stated that the only recognised election must be supervised by the legitimate national executive council and the appropriate electoral committee. They reassured students that plans are already underway to organise a proper, transparent, and constitutionally approved election that reflects the true voice of the students.

NAOSS also warned individuals causing division or impersonating officials to stop immediately. They encouraged students to remain calm and promised that the association will continue to protect their interests. The group reaffirmed its commitment to unity, accountability, and lawful leadership transition.
