Law students of Abia State University (ABSU) have cried out over their prolonged delay, saying they have been stuck for four years without progressing academically. The students explained that the problem began after accreditation challenges affected the law faculty, leaving them unable to move to the next level or graduate. Many said the situation has left them emotionally drained and uncertain about their future.
According to the students, they have lost valuable time and opportunities while waiting for the school to resolve the issue. Some noted that their mates in other universities have already graduated and even completed their Law School programs. They appealed to the university management and the Abia State Government to step in urgently so they can continue their studies without further setbacks.
Parents and guardians have also expressed frustration, saying they have invested money over the years but have nothing to show for it. Many families are worried about the psychological and financial pressure the delay has caused their children. They stressed that the students deserve clarity and a clear academic timeline after years of waiting.
The stranded students are now calling on the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC), the Council of Legal Education, and other regulatory bodies to intervene. They believe that restarting their academic journey is impossible without official action. They urged authorities to prioritize the accreditation of the faculty so they can finally move forward with their careers.
