The Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken a swipe at former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, describing him as an “80-year-old political tourist”. The party made the remark while reacting to Atiku’s recent political activities, accusing him of jumping from party to party without offering any solid plans for Nigeria’s future.
According to the APC, Atiku has spent decades contesting for the presidency without building stable political structures or showing consistency. Party leaders argued that his frequent movement between parties shows he is more interested in personal ambition than national development. They insisted that Nigerians are becoming tired of politicians who appear only during election seasons.
The Lagos APC also claimed that Atiku’s latest political moves lack direction, saying he has not presented any fresh ideas that address the country’s economic or security challenges. Instead, they believe he focuses on attacking the ruling party rather than offering realistic solutions. The group said voters deserve leaders who are committed, steady, and ready to work for long-term progress.
Meanwhile, supporters of Atiku dismissed the comments as unnecessary political insults. They argued that Atiku has every right to participate in politics and should not be mocked based on age. The exchange has added to the growing political tension as parties prepare for upcoming elections.
