Former Governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has stated that the 2027 presidential election will be a contest dominated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. According to him, the political atmosphere suggests that the President will remain the major deciding factor in the upcoming polls.
Speaking to journalists, Kalu explained that Tinubu has a strong political structure across the country and enjoys wide support within the ruling party. He said that even those hoping to challenge the president in 2027 may find themselves aligning with him because of his influence and leadership style.
Kalu also urged Nigerians to focus on national unity and development rather than heated political rivalry. He encouraged political actors to avoid unnecessary tension and instead contribute to strengthening democracy and improving citizens’ welfare. According to him, the country will benefit more when leaders work together rather than fight for power at all costs.
As conversations around the 2027 election continue to grow, Senator Kalu believes Tinubu’s political dominance will play a key role, making the election feel like a contest where the President is running against himself due to his deep influence in the system.
