A traditional ruler from Benue State has asked former U.S. President Donald Trump to move quickly on his warning of possible military action against Nigeria. The monarch said Nigerians are suffering from insecurity and bad governance, and many people believe strong international pressure might push leaders to act. According to him, the current situation has gone beyond talks and requires urgent steps to protect citizens from violence and hardship.
Speaking in reaction to Trump’s tough comments toward the Nigerian government, the monarch expressed support for any intervention that would restore peace and accountability. He said innocent people in his state and other parts of the country live in fear daily due to attacks by criminals and armed groups. The royal father stressed that leaders have failed to secure the nation, and Nigerians need help from outside to stop the killings.
He also criticized the government for not responding strongly or reassuring citizens after Trump’s remarks. According to him, leaders seem more concerned about politics than protecting lives. He urged the federal government to take Trump’s threat seriously and fix the security challenges before foreign intervention becomes necessary. The monarch warned that silence and denial will only worsen the crisis.
The traditional ruler added that the suffering across Nigeria is becoming unbearable, and people feel abandoned by those in power. He said many Nigerians now believe foreign support is needed to bring peace and stability. In his view, waiting any longer could lead to more tragedies, displacement, and hunger among innocent families.
He called on the government to show transparency, embrace accountability, and work with international partners to improve security. The monarch emphasized that Nigerians are tired and want a country where they can live without fear. He urged authorities to listen to citizens, not silence them, and take urgent action to save lives.
