A member of the House of Representatives has assured Nigerians that the long-abandoned Ajaokuta Steel Company will soon return to full operations. He explained that the federal government is already making moves to revive the project, which has the potential to create jobs, boost industrialization, and reduce Nigeria’s dependence on imported steel.

The lawmaker noted that the steel plant, once described as the “bedrock of Nigeria’s industrial growth,” has suffered neglect for decades due to poor management, lack of funding, and political setbacks. However, he expressed confidence that with renewed government interest, the facility will finally deliver on its promises.

He further urged Nigerians to be patient, stating that Ajaokuta’s revival will not only transform the nation’s economy but also support local industries, enhance infrastructure development, and strengthen Nigeria’s position in global trade.
