Human rights activist and politician Omoyele Sowore has alleged that former Rivers State governor and current FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, owns three properties in Winter Springs, Florida, USA.
According to Sowore, the houses were allegedly acquired using funds linked to corruption and registered under the name of Wike’s wife, Justice Eberechi Suzzette Nyesom-Wike, who serves as a judge at the Court of Appeal. The activist further claimed that the properties have been distributed among Wike’s children.
Sowore disclosed that he has already contacted the Florida Attorney-General’s office, led by James Uthmeier, to raise concerns about what he described as money laundering and property trafficking involving stolen public funds. He insisted that these alleged crimes qualify as first-class felonies under US law.
While Sowore suggests there could be more hidden properties abroad, he emphasized that his campaign is making progress in exposing them.
The allegations have stirred political conversations in Nigeria, with critics calling for investigations, while supporters of Wike dismiss them as political blackmail.
