Veteran entertainer and activist, Charly Boy, has shared how he received a surprise early morning visit from former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi.
In a post on his X handle, Charly Boy narrated that Obi called him around 1 am, saying he would stop by his home at 5 am. True to his word, Obi arrived with a ‘Ghana Must Go’ bag that caught Charly Boy’s attention.
The activist said he initially wondered what could be inside the bag but did not bother to check. After about two hours of discussions on Nigeria, politics, and family, Obi handed him the bag, explaining it was just “a small thing.”
On opening it after Obi left, Charly Boy discovered it was packed with fruits and local snacks including roasted groundnuts, kolanuts, alligator pepper, pawpaw, bananas, oranges, mangoes, and agara. Obi reportedly told him, “I no fit give you money, but I fit give you this one, na my hand pick.”
Charly Boy, who has been a strong supporter of Obi and the Obidient Movement, said the thoughtful gesture left him laughing uncontrollably, praising Obi’s humility and simplicity.
