Sokoto Gov vows crackdown on bandits’ informants

Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, has ordered security agencies to deal with people acting as informants for bandits the same way they deal with the criminals.

He made this statement while visiting Wurno and Rabah Local Government Areas to console victims of recent bandit attacks. The governor described informants as betrayers who sell out their communities for little money.

Aliyu urged villagers to report anyone suspected of helping bandits. He also called on Islamic clerics to educate people during sermons and prayers about the dangers of supporting or working with criminals.

The governor explained that several steps have already been taken to strengthen security.

These include providing over 170 patrol vehicles and motorcycles, increasing allowances for security officers in dangerous areas, and setting up the State Community Guard Corps.
