A man identified as Mr. Isaac Ugwu Anayo was discovered lifeless inside his vehicle close to a police checkpoint in Abaji, along the Abuja-Lokoja expressway.

Eyewitnesses explained that the deceased was alone in a Volkswagen Pickup truck with the registration number ARP 192XA, which he had parked by the roadside not far from the checkpoint.

According to Daily Trust, policemen later approached the parked vehicle and found the man inside with foam coming out of his mouth.

The officers quickly contacted officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), who rushed to the scene.

An FRSC officer, who asked not to be named, confirmed the discovery. He said police at the checkpoint called them in, and they immediately moved the man to the hospital. Sadly, doctors confirmed he was already dead.

The officer added that the man’s remains have been taken to Abaji General Hospital. He also revealed that the victim’s family has been contacted through a mobile phone retrieved from the vehicle.

A police officer from Abaji Division also confirmed the sad development.
