Jules Kounde, a teammate of Ousmane Dembele in the French national team, has shown support for Barcelona star Lamine Yamal, saying the youngster deserves to win the 2025 Ballon d’Or.

Kounde explained that Yamal is worthy of the award even though his close friend Dembele is also among the contenders. Both players are part of the 30-man shortlist for the prestigious prize.

When asked about his choice, Kounde said it was a tricky question but admitted Yamal deserves it. He added that he shares a good relationship with the teenager, describing him as a hardworking player who always puts the team first.

At just 18 years old, Yamal impressed last season with 18 goals for Barcelona in La Liga while also standing out in the UEFA Champions League.

The Spanish forward earned his place in Barcelona’s first team under former manager Xavi, who gave him the opportunity to showcase his talent at a young age.
