Tension has gripped Ile-Oluji in Ondo State after the sudden and suspicious death of a young man, Isaiah Bademosi, inside the home of his employer.
The incident has caused anger in the community, with family members and residents demanding justice and a proper investigation into what really happened.
Isaiah’s younger sister, Rachel Bademosi, shared the last moments she had with him. She explained that Isaiah told her he would be spending the night at his boss’s house on Olorungbohunmi Street because his boss had just returned from a trip.
Since his phone was not working, Isaiah borrowed Rachel’s. Later that night, around 10:16 p.m., he called her using his boss’s phone to ask for her password. That was the last time she heard from him alive.
By the next morning, Rachel received the heartbreaking news that her brother had died. When she rushed to the house, she said she was shocked to see blood through the boss’s bedroom window.
Rachel explained that a woman inside the house at first claimed not to know what had happened. But after much questioning, the woman pointed her to look inside the room, where she saw a pool of blood.
She further accused the authorities of handling the case poorly. According to her, Isaiah’s body was moved to a mortuary without informing his wife or any family member.
The case was later taken to the State Intelligence Bureau in Akure, but the family said they have still not received any answers about the mysterious death.
The development sparked outrage on Sunday as residents of Ile-Oluji poured into the streets, holding placards and chanting for justice.
Rachel insisted that the fight for justice was not only about her brother but about protecting every family from similar experiences. She appealed to Nigerians to stand with them in demanding the truth and accountability.
