Dangote Cement Plc has spoken out about a recent road accident in Auchi, Edo State, involving one of its trucks, which seriously injured Ruth Otabor, the sister of reality TV star Phyna.

The crash tragically resulted in Ruth losing a leg, just a week after she graduated from Auchi Polytechnic.

According to witnesses, the truck driver did not stop after hitting her. However, a lecturer who saw the incident chased the truck and managed to stop it.

It was reported that the truck’s license plate had been removed, and the vehicle has now been taken into police custody.

In response, Dangote Cement said that senior company officials, along with their insurance team, visited the accident site, spoke with law enforcement, and checked on Ruth and her family at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital.

The company confirmed that Ruth will receive complete medical care and compensation as part of its welfare policy.

Dangote Cement also expressed deep concern for her condition and wished her a speedy recovery.
