Activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju has dismissed the Nigeria Police Force’s denial of torturing former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore while in detention.

Sowore, who is being investigated for alleged cyberstalking, was recently seen in a viral photo with his arm in a bandage, raising concerns about possible abuse while in custody.

The police released a statement on Friday night insisting they did not harm him, claiming the image was deliberately shared to mislead the public and provoke unnecessary outrage.

Adeyanju, however, took to his official Facebook page to accuse the police of lying. He alleged that the force, under Inspector General Egbetokun, had tortured Sowore and broken his hands, warning that those responsible would eventually face justice.
