Currently on his farewell tour, the 17-time world champion explained that it was fans who first made him realize his hair was thinning. During events, some held up signs that joked about his receding hairline, making it hard for him to ignore.

Speaking with People Magazine, the 48-year-old wrestling star revealed he underwent a hair transplant procedure in November of last year. According to him, he’s happy with how things turned out.

Cena said he initially tried to cover up the hair loss, but fans kept calling attention to it. He used the teasing as part of his storyline in the ring but also took it seriously. “I wanted the audience to know that I saw the signs, like the one saying ‘Bald John Cena’. I understood what they were pointing out, and I knew I had to do something about it,” he said.

He appreciated the fans’ honesty and said their constant reminders pushed him to explore his options. After weighing things out, he decided to go through with a transplant. “It was a big step, but I went for the surgery in November,” Cena added.

Interestingly, the surgery happened just before he kicked off his retirement tour in January. He said returning to the spotlight so soon after the procedure wasn’t easy, but he managed it. Despite the challenge, he’s grateful for the outcome and feels more confident.
