Tragedy struck on Thursday night in Gidan Taro, a village in the Kwasare Sisawa ward of Wurno Local Government Area, Sokoto State, as armed bandits launched a deadly attack.
According to security expert Bakatsine, who reported the incident on Friday, the attackers killed multiple villagers during the late-night raid.
Among the victims was Alhaji Bello Gidan Taro, a highly respected figure in the community, whose death has deeply saddened locals.
The attackers didn’t just take lives—they also injured several residents and kidnapped others, spreading fear and pain across the village.
“Yesterday night, bandits attacked Gidan Taro in Kwasare Sisawa ward, Wurno LGA, Sokoto State, killing several, injuring many and abducting others. Among those killed was a respected community member, Alh. Bello Gidan Taro,” Bakatsine posted.
This latest attack adds to the growing list of violent incidents affecting communities across northern Nigeria, raising serious concerns about rural safety and the urgent need for stronger security measures.
