Nigerian football star Victor Osimhen has shared his excitement after officially sealing a permanent transfer to Galatasaray, a club he describes as home.

The Super Eagles striker arrived in Istanbul, Turkey, on Tuesday, accompanied by his wife and daughter. His arrival caused a stir at the airport as thousands of passionate fans and journalists gathered to welcome him warmly.

Speaking to the media, Osimhen said he was overwhelmed by the love he received. “I don’t know how to describe my feelings. I’m so excited, I’ve arrived at the place I love,” he said.

He continued by expressing gratitude to the club’s leadership and supporters. “I’m at home and I’m very happy. I thank the president, the vice president, George Gardi, and Okan Buruk. I also thank the fans who wanted me back,” he added. “I’m happy to continue with Galatasaray. My story continues.”

Galatasaray’s Vice President, Abdullah Kavukcu, also shared details on how the transfer was secured. He revealed that the deal had been in the works since January, and the club worked hard behind the scenes to make it happen.

“My president and I believed in this and started it in January. We worked hard to raise the money, without selling anything,” he said. “We’re paying a certain portion upfront and will cover the entire amount within a year. We said Galatasaray had the capacity to pay this, and we did it.”

Osimhen’s return marks a new chapter for both him and Galatasaray. Fans are hopeful his presence will boost the team’s performance and bring fresh energy to the squad.
