It’ll be hard for PDP to survive ADC ‘second stroke’ – Atiku’s ally Sowunmi

Segun Sowunmi, who used to be the campaign spokesman for Atiku Abubakar, has raised concerns about the future of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He believes the party may face another serious threat, this time from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Sowunmi explained that the PDP already survived one big problem when five of its governors, known as the G-5, turned against it during the 2023 elections.

Back then, the G-5 group, led by former Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike, refused to support Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential candidate. Instead, some of them backed Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), while others supported Peter Obi of the Labour Party.

Now, with ADC recently joining forces with the opposition coalition, Sowunmi is worried that this could be another serious challenge for the PDP.

In a message he shared on social media platform X, he said the party barely survived the first crisis caused by the G-5 and questioned if it can handle this new one from ADC.

He criticized the current PDP leaders, saying they are not doing enough to strengthen the party. According to him, ignoring the moves of ADC is a big mistake and shows a lack of seriousness.
