Nigerian singer Peruzzi, whose real name is Tobechukwu Victor Okoh, has finally shared why some people think his voice sounds like legendary musician 2Baba, formerly known as 2Face Idibia.
Many fans have pointed out that Peruzzi’s vocals remind them of 2Baba, especially in some of his songs. This comparison has been around for a while and continues to stir conversations among Afrobeats lovers.
Speaking during an interview on the Afrobeats Intelligence podcast with Joey Akan, Peruzzi explained that he actually learned to sing like 2Baba during the time they spent working together.
He said, “People ask why I sound like 2Baba sometimes. It’s simple — I learnt it while I was with him.”
In 2020, the two artists teamed up for the hit track Amaka, which became a major success. Their voices matched so well on the song that many fans praised their chemistry.
