Gambian President Adama Barrow and his wife, First Lady Fatoumata Bar-Barrow, visited President Bola Tinubu and Nigeria’s First Lady, Remi Tinubu, at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Before meeting with the Nigerian leader, President Barrow had earlier travelled to Daura, Katsina State, where he paid a condolence visit to the family of Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari, who recently passed away.
The visit shows strong ties between both West African nations and highlights the respect and unity African leaders show in times of loss.
While at Aso Rock, the two leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, though details of their private meeting were not made public. The meeting was seen as both a friendly and diplomatic gesture, following the respectful stop in Daura.
President Barrow’s visit underlines Gambia’s continued support for Nigeria, and the good relationship between both countries’ leaders.
