A tragic incident has left the people of Umueri village in Ogbunike, Anambra State in deep shock. A man named Chiemelie Oborji is accused of killing a pregnant nurse in what many believe was a ritual act.
The suspect reportedly tricked the nurse by pretending his mother was very sick and needed urgent medical help. Trusting him, the nurse followed him to his home.
But as soon as she got there, the situation turned deadly. According to a Facebook video that has gone viral, the nurse was brutally murdered shortly after arriving. The man then allegedly ran away from the scene.
A local resident, using the name Iroko Ogbunike on social media, said the nurse’s body was later found in a pit close to the suspect’s house. He added that her body was missing some important organs, suggesting that it may have been a ritual killing.
Many people in the village believe the woman was used for rituals because of the missing body parts. The entire community is still in shock, and security agents are now working hard to catch the suspect.
In the viral video, members of the community were seen removing the nurse’s body from the pit. One young man in the video was heard expressing his anger and sadness, calling the act completely unjust. He also said the suspect, Chiemelie, is now wanted by everyone in the village.
So far, the Anambra State Police Command has not released any official statement. Journalists have tried to contact the police spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, but his phone was unreachable at the time of reporting.
