Club World Cup: Bitter end to Modric’s Real Madrid career – Alonso on PSG defeat

Real Madrid coach, Xabi Alonso, has admitted that Luka Modric’s final game for the club ended in a sad way. Modric’s long career with the team closed with a heavy 4-0 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup semi-final played on Wednesday.

PSG dominated the match and scored four goals. Fabian Ruiz, Ousmane Dembele, and Goncalo Ramos were among the goal scorers for the French team.

Luka Modric played in the match but came on from the bench. Despite his efforts, he couldn’t stop Real Madrid from losing so badly.

That match was Modric’s last appearance in a Real Madrid jersey. The Croatian midfielder is set to move to AC Milan this summer after the Spanish club decided not to renew his contract.

After the game, Alonso spoke warmly about Modric. He said it was a sad way for a great player’s time at the club to end.

Alonso also praised Modric, calling him a club and football legend. He added that Modric is a wonderful person and will always be remembered by Real Madrid fans.
