Just a few weeks after actor Derek Dixon accused Tyler Perry of inappropriate behavior, another actor from The Oval, Braxton Demarco Wells, has come forward with his own claims.
Braxton Wells recently shared a detailed message on Instagram where he accused Mark E. Swinton, a high-ranking executive at Tyler Perry Studios, of assault. He said he was invited to Georgia under false promises and ended up being groomed and taken advantage of.
Wells also claimed that Tyler Perry knew about what happened but chose to remain quiet. He said Perry and his lawyer tried to push him into signing a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) without his full knowledge.
According to Wells, Swinton used his powerful position to take advantage of him, all while hiding behind the image of a company that claims to stand for religious values.
Wells didn’t just accuse Swinton. He also blamed Tyler Perry for keeping quiet and protecting his studio’s image instead of helping someone who was hurt. Wells said Perry’s silence went against the faith-based values he promotes.
Now, Wells wants the NDA to be cancelled and says he will sue for what happened. He plans to take legal action for the alleged assault, emotional pain, and legal wrongdoing. So far, neither Mark Swinton nor Tyler Perry has spoken publicly about Wells’ accusations.
These latest claims follow similar accusations made by another actor, Derek Dixon, who also worked on The Oval. Dixon said he met Perry in 2019 and was later harmed, leading him to file a lawsuit.
In response to Dixon’s lawsuit, Tyler Perry’s lawyer, Matthew Boyd, denied all the claims. He said Dixon was only pretending to be close to Perry to set up a scam. He added that Perry would not be blackmailed and believes the accusations will not succeed in court.
