Daniel Bwala, a Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has said that former presidential candidate Peter Obi might only have a real shot at the presidency in 2031.
Speaking further, Bwala explained that Obi is unlikely to become a Vice Presidential candidate in the 2027 general elections.
While appearing on Channels Television’s “Politics Today,” Bwala suggested that Peter Obi may instead serve as the campaign Director General for a political party in 2027.
He said clearly, “Peter Obi is not even going to be Vice Presidential candidate. He is going to be DG of the campaign with the hopes that he will be President in 2031.”
Peter Obi is currently working with a political coalition that has chosen the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as its official platform.
Just a day earlier, Peter Obi publicly announced his interest in running for president in the upcoming 2027 election.
In the last presidential race held in 2023, Peter Obi came third, finishing behind Atiku Abubakar and the winner, President Bola Tinubu.
