Activist Aisha Yesufu has made it clear that she won’t support any 2027 political ticket where Peter Obi is chosen as a running mate. She said she would actively campaign against such an arrangement.
She explained that one of her main reasons is how women are often given secondary roles in politics. Aisha said she doesn’t like the idea of capable people always being put in deputy positions. She feels Peter Obi deserves a chance to lead, not play second fiddle.
In a video posted on her X (Twitter) page, Aisha repeated her strong views. She pointed out that Nigerian politics often sidelines powerful voices by making them deputies, especially when it comes to women or people who challenge the status quo.
Interestingly, Peter Obi has already said he wants to contest for the presidency in 2027. This lines up with Aisha’s belief that he should go for the top position and not settle for second place.
