Former Manchester United star Gabriel Heinze is about to become a part of the Arsenal coaching crew under manager Mikel Arteta.
According to The Athletic, Heinze is coming in to take over from Carlos Cuesta, who has now become the head coach of Italian club Parma.
Arteta and Heinze have known each other for a long time. They both played for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) during the 2001–2002 season.
Now 47 years old, Heinze has gained coaching experience at clubs such as Godoy Cruz, Atlanta United, and Newell’s Old Boys.
His most recent job was with Newell’s Old Boys, his childhood club. He left the role in November 2023, just one year after taking over.
Heinze will be joining a coaching team at Arsenal that already has Albert Stuivenberg as assistant coach, Nico Jover as the set-piece coach, and Inaki Cana as the goalkeeping coach.
