Liverpool Football Club has shared their sadness after the sudden death of their forward, Diogo Jota. The club posted a message on their official X account on Thursday, saying they were deeply heartbroken by the news. They wrote that they were devastated by Jota’s tragic passing.
Jota and his brother, Andre, both died in a car crash that happened in Zamora, Spain. This sad news came less than two weeks after Jota got married to his longtime partner, Rute Cardoso, in Porto, Portugal. He was only 28 years old and had recently helped Liverpool win the Premier League title last season.
Before the accident, Jota was on holiday to relax ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 football season. Sadly, the accident ended his life just as he was beginning a new chapter. Jota is expected to be buried soon. He leaves behind his wife, Rute, and their three children.
