A former student of Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) has spoken out after he was stopped from entering the school’s Epe campus because of his hairstyle.

The young man arrived at the campus gate wearing an Afro-style haircut. However, the security officers at the entrance told him he couldn’t come in because of how his hair looked.

In a video, the security guards were seen warning him to leave the gate immediately or face the consequences. Their firm attitude surprised the ex-student.

Feeling embarrassed, he recorded a video showing other students with similar bushy hairstyles inside the campus. He questioned why he was treated differently while others were allowed in without any problems.
