A University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) student named Becky has spoken out to reject claims that she had a boyfriend while she was seen dating well-known media personality Asherkine.

The drama started on Snapchat when a user named Kenny said he had been Becky’s boyfriend for two years.

Becky shared messages on social media to deny knowing Kenny at all. She said the name used in the rumors is not her real name. “I don’t know this guy,” she said. “I have never had a boyfriend, and that will not change.”

Becky explained that Kenny only added her on Snapchat a day before making the claims, and that he got his information from Asherkine’s Snapchat. “It surprises me that this guy just added me yesterday from Asherkine’s snap,” she wrote. She also pointed out that the name being shared is not her real or full name.

The issue got worse when Kenny shared a photo showing him kissing Becky’s cheek, trying to prove they were in a relationship. But Becky said the picture was fake and made by AI. She said the photo was edited from a TikTok video she had shared before.

Some people also said Becky was ungrateful for gifts she got on a boat trip with Asherkine. She replied by saying she already knew about most of the gifts before the trip, so they were not surprises. The only surprise was an iPhone 16, which she found very surprising. “I never expected a phone, especially an iPhone 16!” she said.

Becky also made it clear that she told her family before going on the trip, and they agreed after talking it over. “My family knew I was going on this trip,” she said. “The scandal happened after I returned.”
