The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has declared Nigerian singer Speed Darlington, whose real name is Darlington Okoye, wanted by the authorities.
According to a statement released by the agency on Friday, June 27, 2025, Speed Darlington is being sought over serious accusations of r3pe, cyberbullying, and stalking online.
NAPTIP is asking anyone who has helpful information about where he is to reach out to them as soon as possible.
“Darlington Okoye, aka Speed Darlington, is wanted in connection with alleged offences including r3pe, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking. Anyone with credible information on his whereabouts is urged to contact NAPTIP immediately. Call: 07030000203. info@naptip.gov.ng. Shortcode: 627. Let’s work together to ensure justice is served,” the statement read.
This situation started after the singer posted a video online where he claimed to have had s3x with a 15-year-old girl in a hotel. NAPTIP invited him for questioning following the video, but he refused to show up at their office in Abuja.
The video went viral and sparked public anger, with many Nigerians accusing him of statutory r3pe. His statement caused major concern across social media.
After the backlash, Speed Darlington changed his story. He said the whole thing was just a joke and a way to get attention for his music.
However, social media personality Isaac Fayose later revealed that the young girl mentioned in the video is planning to report the matter officially to the police.
